To all AFTA Participants: I'm proud to announce that the web page is now up and running and we are starting to make changes that I hope will make us a better organization and enable us to help our actors in ways we haven't been able in the past. First of all the web page itself. The new page will help our members and participants get noticed by those who hire us. It will be in two parts. First: Participants Our policy has always been that anyone who wants to participate can. People who are new and need help and information will be able to come to meetings and we will have listings of agencies and other helpful things for them, including announcements for meetings, classes and general auditions. We have not had dues in the past as we are not for profit and still will not now for the things we've offered in the past. MEMBERS Members will now have the benefit of our web page. WE ARE IN NO WAY A TALENT AGENCY and we are in no way trying to compete with them. They, as you, need to make a profit to survive. This should help them, as well as you, since a lot of the things we work on are gratis or deferred (that may have been redundant) and agencies don't want to call you for free work. If someone likes you they can contact you and you wind up with something for your reel. HOW THE WEB PAGE WORKS Our page is connected to a database named "TalentPro Network". It is the cutting edge and what the majority of industry people will be using in the future. The page will handle all the promotional material any actor can gather on themselves. Your agent, headshots, pictures, resume, voice over demo, and demo reels can be accessed from the page. Our first meeting will feature Will Fantini, the creator of the program and he will be explaining how to use the page. Membership fees are $35.00 a year, but for our present participants that fee will be reduced to $25.00 during our signup period. If you have received this e-mail, you are presently considered a participant in AFTA. If you want to continue only as a participate, when you go to the website, simply click on "Participant." If you want to become a member, click on that choice.
