Spring Semester runs February 25th-May 9th Stepping Stone Acting Classes Beginning Acting~Ages 6-9 Beginning Acting is a 10 week basic acting course geared for both readers and non-readers. Students will participate in theatre games, learn and practice theatre vocabulary and and theatre etiquette both on and off stage! Parents and friends will be invited to the last day of class for an informal performance and overview of what students have learned and accomplished. Class runs from 4pm to 5pm on Monday afternoons. Tuition: $125 Intermediate Acting~Ages 9-13 Intermediate Acting is a 10 week course including theatre games, script work and audition technique/preparation. Students will each choose and learn a monolgue to be performed on the last day of class for parents and friends along with selected theatre games and an overview of what they have learned. Children enrolled in this class MUST be readers. Class runs from 5pm-6pm on Monday evenings. Tuition: $125 Advanced Acting~Ages 13-17 Advanced acting is a more in depth look into theatre, different method acting, script work and audition preparation and technique. In this 10 week course students will look at both comedic and dramatic monolgues, and scene work with parteners and groups. There will be independent work required both in and outside of class to work on memorization, blocking, etc. There will be an in-class performance on the last day for parents, friends and lower leval acting students. Class runs from 4pm-5:30pm on Wednesday afternoons. Tuition: $150 Pre-K Intro to Acting~Ages 3-6 In Pre-k Intro to Acting, students will learn fun acting exercises and team builnding games as well as simple concepts like how to speak and conduct themselves on and off stage. Parents are asked to stay in the building during this class. Class runs from 8:30am-9am on Tuesday mornings for 10 weeks. Tuition: $90 Acting for Homeschoolers~Ages 6-12 and 13-18 Acting for Homeschoolers follows the format of the above Stepping Stone classes, but are offered during the school day. Classes run Tuesday mornings from 9am to 10am for 6-12 year olds and from 10am to 11am for ages 13-18 for 10 weeks. Tuition: $125 Broadway Song and Dance Camp March 17-21 Session 1: Ages 6-11 Session 2: Ages 12-16 This one week camp runs during spring break with a workshop performance for family and friends on Saturday, March 22. Session 1 runs 9-12pm, session 2 run 1-4pm. Students will learns songs and choreography from muscal theatre shows, and will be encouraged to bring in solos. Why do some people seem so natural and warm and others appear stiff and uncomfortable? Have you ever been on a hosting audition and it just didn't go the way you wanted it to go? Would you like to get some tips that will help you find the best television host right inside you? Then don't miss this fascinating exercise in television hosting from broadcast veteran, Chuck Long. If you've ever wanted to learn what it takes to be a television host, now is the time. "I firmly believe that anyone can learn the art of hosting," Long says. "It's about finding what makes you different from everyone else, and then showcasing that in front of the camera, whether it's live or taped." Long takes people on a step by step journey to show them the difference between being a good host and a great host. Chuck Long began his hosting career at age 19, while a student at the University of Texas, fronting Backstage at Austin City Limits. He never looked back and has been at it ever since. After college graduation, Long moved to Los Angeles and started entertainment reporting and hosting for a brand new cable network at the time, which just happened to be E! Entertainment Television. Other early hosting stints included Nickeolodeon's Make the Grade, USA Network's Gone Fishing, The Nashville Network's Video PM, and Financial News Network's Telshop. Long then created and hosted Chuck's Country, which ran in national syndication for 3 years, before moving to CMT. After a run on CMT, the show became Chuck's Country Lightning and helpe kick off the Americana Network, where it ran for another 4 years. Long also hosted Americana Digest, Writer's Notes and the Austin Music Scene on the Americana Network. Long is a popular personality in Nashville, thanks to his hosting gigs on the WB's Mornings, correspondent work on TNN's Crook and Chase and the Shop at Home Network, where he served as a senior host for 9 years. Long is also one of Nasvhille's busiest pitchmen, appearing in over 100 commercials and infomercials. Current spots running include The Weather Channel, Centennial Wireless, Nasvhille Pharmacy Services and Tennessee Power Companies. Long also hosts entertainment segments on NewsChannel 5+.
